The Galt Area Historical Society has been offered an old building that was once the stage stop and Wells Fargo Bank office. It is still in restorable condition, but must be "saved" very soon. It needs to be moved and the roof fixed. The land that it currently sits on has just been sold.
The view looking South East of the front
The electric service must be removed. The porch must be removed. The shrub on the left side must be removed.
Looking North East at the front. The tree may have to be cut down.
The view looking North. The last 10 feet of building (the better painted portion) at the rear is a bathroom that was added on later. It would come off.
The view looking Northwest. This mostly shows the bathroom that would come off.
The view looking South. This really shows the poor roof and some siding that needs to be repaired/replaced.
We hope that the building can be moved to a safe place and the roof repaired. That will allow it to not deteriorate more. Some room is available under it for inserting some timbers. That would allow it to be picked up and put on a trailer. Money must be raised for this project.
